Re: [GBlist] Re: Wood frame windows with high-perf glazing?

I forwarded the email about Hurd's Insol8 to my Marvin rep and got this response, for what it is worth.  Obviously he has a point of view....

"I have to do some research on the energy data, but right away I noticed this entry in the Hurd Warranty:

II. Two (2) Year Limited Warranty: Glass Stress Cracks.

All glass units shall be free from stress cracks for a period of two (2) years from the date of first purchase from Hurd. Glass to be supplied at no charge. A stress crack is a crack in the glass that occurs only on the inside lite of the window that is usually caused by a rapid change in temperature.

Our Warranty is now 20 years on the glass, without exclusions, and pro rating. (Hurds general glass warranty is pro-rated.)

Thanks and I'll let you know what I find out about energy claims and comparisons.
