[GBlist] Re: sustainable prefabricated house kits

A friend is interested in buying land and a "house kit". I would like to
steer him to companies which are oriented to sustainable issues. This
has been a dream of his for a while, and I am not familiar with this
kind of building paradigm. Would anyone have any recommendations? The
house would be sited in Los Angeles.

Thanks,
barbara lamprecht

p.s., should anyone be interested, the latest on-line issue of the Los
Angeles Forum for Architecture and Urban Design is devoted to housing. I
edited the issue, and it discusses prototypes and proposals for
alternative kinds of thinking. .
