I surely haven't got all the terms straight in my head, but if you folks are talking about those little strips of wood underneath the siding, the Hardi guys I talked to said they *were* necessary.
I don't think that anyone trying to sell something would make the job anymore difficult that it really had to be, so there must be a point to it.
If I have completely misunderstood what y'all are talking about, then please forgive (or even educate) me <G>. Just trying to be helpful in those very few instances when I actually might be able to.
