Re: [GBlist] Preparing for fuel cells/Call for building materials recycling ideas!!!

Greetings, Will and Greenbuilders!

Thanks in part to the great input from this list, our group, Save the
Redwoods/Boycott the Gap Campaign (SRBG), is becoming pro-active in the
renewable energy and building materials recycling fronts here in San
Francisco!

The people of SF passed two solar bills last November mandating a 50 MW
solar pilot project, and now SRBG is spearheading an effort to see that this
project implemented holistically for optimal community benefit, social
justice, extensibility, and sustainability. We have many renewable energy
experts here in the Bay Area, and we will be talking with a hydrogen cell
guru soon, and share with this list any and all info!

We have also begun working with SF's Department of the Environment to
implement an incentive-driven building materials recycling program for
optimal community benefit, including some ordinances and perhaps an overhaul
of the building codes to support recycled wood use!

***PLEASE, share with us your ideas and wish-list for what such a program
should include--what would work for you as a Green Builder?! We will try to
address them all in SF's prototype solution, that will perhaps become a
model to other cities around the world!***

Cheers and thanks!
