[GBlist] Ventilating a small house

I'm planning to build a small, tight house: 660 square feet plus a loft;
about 7,000 cubic feet. SIPs for walls. Propane tankless water heater
and radiator are sealed combustion, direct vented. The woodstove uses
outside air. I'll use an electric range if I can't find a sealed
combustion propane setup. Construction materials will be low VOC.

The climate is south-central Indiana (more heating than cooling; humid
summers; winters rarely below 0). Inhabitants will be me (I cook a lot)
and a Great Dane (she breathes a lot). The only enclosed room is the
bathroom; the rest is open.

How would you ensure good air quality? Would an ERV be overkill? Would
local exhaust fans or a whole-house fan and air makeup vents be enough?

Thanks in advance,

Cathy
