Not sure about sources, but low cost and Infrared imagining have always
been contradictions in terms.

Another factor to consider, that without knowing the ins and outs of
radiation heat transfer it is possible to really misuse this equipment.

For example if you put the camera on your shoulder and take a picture of
a window, you'll likely see not only a reflection of yourself in the
window, but also the camera.
