[GBlist] IR thermograph equipment

Dr. Wasley:

Have you contacted any of the DOE national labs - like LBNL, NREL, PPNL, or Brookhaven? They might have surplus IR thermograph equipment, or could lease it to UWM for your needs. A good place to start might also be talking to the folks at DOE Chicago office about your needs.

Since the cryo-cooled units are going obsolete and getting replaced, there might be surplus ore used. Check out "www.infraspection.com"

Used Equipment For Sale. Below is a list of Used Equipment provided by our Graduates
and other people. ... Some IR manufacturers sell used equipment.

I was delighted to hear about your course too. Wish there had been graduate MArch in environmental building back in the '70s then my somewhat circuitous route to present career might have been more direct.

Sincerely, Bion Howard

> Hello greenbuilding. At the risk of cross-posting this to death, I'd like to join your ranks with a question.
> As a professor of Architecture teaching environmental control issues, I'm interested in finding infrared imaging equipment that might be useful for student use. .. it would need to be low cost, robust, and easy to use. It would be nice to be able to use it for research purposes, but I'm really thinking of something that you could turn students loose with to simply explore the thermal world.
> Any leads, recommendations or thoughts would be welcome! Any protocol information for building thermal performance studies would also be helpful... the web seems dominated by military, medical and manufacturing applications, with little that I've found about energy auditing.
