[GBlist] green decisions

am trying to offer the most green homes in my ecoVillage === but keep running into an affordability problem - houses very expensive in Albemarle County here in Virginia - so have been looking in to panelized construction and modulars - these would be much more affordable and have the benefit of having far reduced on site construction waste and faster occupancy -- BUT that will come with some lesser quality choices in terms of glues, insulations etc ====  can change the vinyl sidings and windows to better choices, and use better cabinets, but the more changes that are made, the less affordable --- what is a good way to reconcile my dilemma ??  at what point do you just do the best you can under the cirumstances and move forward ??Thanks  Linda Lloyd
