[GBlist] bamboo matpanels

Aloha,

Can anyone provide information on suppliers of heat press for plywood manufacturing.

I will be leaving for Hainan, China next month to evaluate using bamboo mats to make 4' x 8' panels. These will be 100% bamboo. The question is a formalin free adhesive insteal of the urea or phenol adhesive currently used.

These panel can be used as form material in masonry work, substrate material replacing particleboard, marine plywood and numerous other non-structural uses that currently use wood.

I might also add that the social aspect of such a project is extremly apealing in that mat making is a cottage industry that provide female employment. More money in the hands of  females is usually reflected in better nutrition, health and education for the household. It also is closely correlated with reduced birthrate for the mothers,
