In my opinion, one of the best books you can buy on the subject of all
aspects of our culture is:
The Culture of Make Belief by Derrick Jensen

Also available, off the shelf, at all major booksellers.

You will not be disappointed [you may be shocked, however] and it might well
change your life. Delves deeper into our consciousness than Michael Moore's
Bowling for Columbine could. Get it for Christmas, take a few days off and
expand...
