Just for the record - 
I converted my grrrid-connect suburban house to a net electricity generator
almost two years ago and have generated 3900 kWh since then.
As the yearly electricity consumption of out family of four is only 1700 kWh
while the panels produce some 2100 kWh yearly, our meter has a reading lower
than when we started. I got some worried calls from the meter reading
department, but everything was settled after I informed them that I had
3000 Wp panels.
