An interesting story... When I shut off the gas meter, replacing my
natural gas powered central heater with a Cast Iron stove/oven, it
didn't take the Gas Company (Reliant Energy) here, in Houston
very long to detect my 'non-usage' and to come out and replace
my 'defective' gas meter... I showed the gas man, my PV system,
and the Cast Iron stove...and he exhanged the old gas meter with a
new meter... he also tested out the new meter, and there was, of
course, no gas usage... in fact, the gas is off, at the meter... This
all happened, last Friday, so I hope I won't hear from them again...
and... if they cut off the gas... then I won't even pay the $9.80
monthly line charge...
