Dear John,
Visit the Santa Monica Pier and see PV on the roller coaster roof. There's even a
little PV panel on the roof of the building at the end of the pier. Stop by the Santa
Monica city hall and ask for directions to the 2 nearby solar carports. See the big
PV carport at LADWP headquarters in downtown L.A. See the large PV array on the side
of the L.A. convention center. In Anaheim, go to the convention center and ride the
elevator to the rooftop patio to see the 100 kW PV array. And of course see the 1000s
of PV powered emergency callboxes along every freeway. Visit the solar subdivision in
Sylmar. There's lots of PV in L.A., but not all are accessible. Just yesterday I saw
a new PV powered gate at a parking lot in Hollywood so keep your eyes open...and this
is just the beginning of the Solar Age.
