[pvusers] MN wind measuring devices/towers, was Re: [a-w-h] Virginia Loans Anemometers to Landowners
I found out a few weeks ago that the State of Minnesota
Commerce Department has several wind measurement
devices and towers they loan out for free. Of course,
they are usually all in use, so you have to get on a list/
schedule to use one.
Interesting note: a contact there told me that a prominent
local (Minneapolis area) wind business doesn't use any
(long term) measurement devices, they use the available
wind data and apparently make their best guess on the
wind resource.
OT: In January they start taking applications for a 25%
PV buydown program in the state.
