Re: [pvusers] refrigeration once again
Hi All,
I also have known Larry for years and sold and installed several
Sunfrosts over the years. I agree with Michael the Larry is totally
trustworthy and the company gives good tech and customer support.
That said, I unfortunately have to agree that the economics of
Sunfrosts are getting harder to justify with the advent of less than
1.5KHW/day fridges on the market given the price difference. I am
hoping that Larry or someone can raise the bar even more and come out
with a full size fridge at .5KHW/day or less. I think that could be
accomplished using the now available vacuum panels and/or scroll
compressors and/or some innovative design that would keep the door
opening from dumping all the cold (assuming one needs to stay
upright).
Fridges are such a large part of the total energy budget that I find
it's really important to run the fridge choice vs. more panels
numbers very carefully. That also said I tend to go with gas fridges
for my customers!
