I switched brands just because of
the crummy customer service I have experienced from Trace. I also have a few of
the smaller 150-600 watt inverters, I use them infrequently but they perform
well. I hate that the fan runs all the time on the Porta watz.
When I bought that
inexpensive 400 watt, $29, Vector inverter
from
Wal-Mart, the first thing I noticed was that the fan
ran
all the
time.... and.... the inverter would shut down, if
there
was even a
slight surge...it is a cheap inverter... but....it doesn't
handle surges well, at all...
I would not recommend it...
