I live in a grid tied house. We have about 700 watts of PV on the roof and have
no interest in selling back, net metering etc. We took all the circuits except
the furnace motor and backup water heater and put them in a sub panel that we
feed from an early 2512 Trace. No problems.

Rather than keep the Trace loaded all the time I have phones, fax machine and a
small TV plugged into a Statpower 200  watt inverter, 5 years no problem, 24
watt load.

When we first moved in I ran a 12v circuit for our fridge and a DC light in each
room. When my wife got a laptop I plugged another Powestar in for it.
