[pvusers] PV battery-free frig/Re: Energy Pig Frig

Dear Chris,

Sorry I was not able respond with more specific references,
and in a more timely mannerm but I can direct others to
the Archives of solar-ac messages at:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/solar-ac/messages
where you will find discussed there, a PV powered battery free
refrigerator, marketed now by SunWize, as i recall. Don't know
price nor availability.

Good luck,

Yours truly,
Ross@rnn.com

> Today the Sears tech came out and was predictably befuddled. His call in to the tech wizards resulted in the standard line of "well those figures are best case scenario -your mileage may vary....yah yah .." The problem with their arguement is our new Frig. is replacing a 5 year old Kenmore 18.5 cu.ft. with usage rating of 554kwh/yr. or 1.55kwh/day which has been consistently measured over several months under consistent temp. and use patterns and uses surprise 1.54kwh/day just as advertised.
> So now of course I must return this frig. buy a new one -which hopefully will perform as advertised and now Sears will sell this underperforming frig to someone who isn't as anal. Do I complain to Energy Star or anyone else?
> Oh it is a scratch and dent model ( as the previous Kenmore frig. was) so instead of the $799 list price I paid $ 449--same warranty and a good deal if I can get one to work. Oh which brings up the real pisser I bought the frig. 100miles away in Atl where they have a big enough selection so I can fing the Energy Star models. Can anyone say extra energy use --luckily I have business which requires me and my truck to travel to Atl twice a month
