Seems like you are doing everything right (so congratulate yourself and
have a beer and I'll have one too). If the 5" side is not against the
stove, oven or other heat source and direct sun is not striking your
refrigerator, then energy consumption should be plus/minus 10% of the
energy rating. I suggest contacting the manufacturer and telling them
your test conditions and results and asking them why the difference is
so high. You will probably have a hard time making contact with the
right person, but it is worth the effort. Please share your experience
with us.
