[pvusers] Concorde vs Surrette (was Upgrading my system?)

What's wrong with the Concordes, do you think? A while back someone asked
for opinions and no one replied. They are less than twice the price of L-16s
and last twice as long, as I understand it, and no hassle. Surrette appears
even more expensive than Concordes. And it's not clear to me that they would
last much longer in our climate. I must not understand the market as it
stands.

It seems from my web browsing that system sellers either fall into the
pro-Surrette or pro-Concorde camps without much debate about it that I have
found. Of course, around here no one seems to even consider anything except
L-16s--whatever is cheapest at the time.

http://www.vonwentzel.net/Battery/07.Drama/letter3.html
has some interesting argument about Concorde and Surrette--albeit a personal
debate in a marine environment. Still, most everything else I've read was
written by someone selling the stuff--not that that makes it un-useful. What
to think?

And we thought it was so cool at the time... ;)

Thanks for the feedback!

Cheers,
Kirt

FWIW, I got a weird response to my last post saying I wasn't subscribed (but
I am--or was, since these responses came privately only???) and that it
would go to the moderator for screening. What am I doing wrong?
