Vince,

I use a temperature controlled soldering iron, about $80 - but you can get
them cheaper too, set at about 375C / 700F.  Coat the connection with some
good flux.  Use silver bearing solder.  Sometimes I have to rough up the
connect pad with very fine sandpaper.  That usually does the trick for me no
matter what I solder.
