Re: [pvusers] Solus/Sundanzer Refrigerators

Hi Paul,

Michael Welch forwarded your message.

I picked up a SunDanzer 8 cf freezer at the Midwest RE Fair in June, and have been running it here for a bit over a month. Nice cabinet (made by Electrolux), quiet operation, works. I haven't put metering on it yet, but intend to. I am well impressed so far, and my gut says that it is not a huge load on our system. I have it outside in a shed on the north side of our house, in our temperate climate. I don't think our system could support an efficient AC freezer, and the Sun Frost was too pricey and the wrong orientation (I like chest). I'm happy. It's not a fast freezer; we put a whole cowhide in, and forgot to crank the thermostat up (I'd been working it down, experimenting). It took a long while to recover from that hot input.

Questions welcome, and SunWize is very helpful with info.

Best,

Ian
