Re: [pvusers] Delamination of Siemens M55 modules

Dear Rudolfo,

No direct experience with the M55, but my M20 looks fine re:
encapsulation, delam, etc.

I've seen the glass of a similar M panel crack without the cell
materials separating or tearing apart, so its fairly tough.

If your panel produces any current, then there may be no ill effects
of the undisclosed type of delamination. Is this inquiry hypothetical,
part of a purchasing decision, or otherwise relating to an actual problem?

I've seen a Mobil Solar panel with 20w of pv cells under a glazing of
completely shattered tempered glass (broken in transport,) with no
reduced output.

Like collectors on fire - another past unsubstantiated solar bugaboo -
this and innumerable other legitimate concerns of a legitimate engineer
or design product evaluator will be trotted out, by the political
nay-sayers, to delay and cast shadows over solar efforts.

Yours truly,
Ross@rnn.com
