RE: [pvusers] Small Propane Fridge
Bill,
We've been told by Servel representatives that the fridge must be given a 2"
space on the sides and a 3" space along the top to appropriately vent out.
Our understanding is that the optional vent kit is only necessary if this
space around the fridge is not available or if the room it's in is
relatively small and airtight. Unfortunately, I don't know what they
classify exactly as "relatively small" and how airtight is too airtight.
However, most homes cycle their air naturally every once every two hours
(2-3 times per hour for industrial buildings). Hope that helps.
Regards,
Sascha

Subject: [pvusers] Small Propane Fridge
I am looking for a small propane fridge that will fit under a kitchen
counter. Dometic makes a model the right size intended for RV use, but
they recommend against its use in a cabin situation where direct vent to
the outside is not available. Are large LP refigerators vented to the
outside? Does anyone have any suggestions for an under counter
instrallation against an interior wall - assuming there is space behind
and above the unit for air circulation?
Thanks,
Bill Scott.
