Re: [pvusers] RFI Inverter Problems
You didn't mention what kind inverter you have. That would be much more
relevant than the PV information in solving your problems. Also what type
of modem do you have: internal, external, pc, notebook, ...
I run an Exeltech XP1100 for most of my stuff and have no problems with RFI.
I'm sitting about 5 feet away from the inverter currently. All my computing
systems run off of the solar system without problem. Of course the XP1100
is almost noise free too.
One thing you could look into is possibly wrap the phone cable through a
ferrite core at the point closest to the modem connection. This might cut
down on some of the background noise.

Subject: [pvusers] RFI Inverter Problems
I have 5 PV feeding 3 strings of 2 - 6 Volt ddc batteries making a 12
Volt overall system.
The inverter makes so much RFI (radio frequency interference) that the
telephone line can be very bad, so bad that the computer I am using
will connect only at 23k, but if I use the generator, I can get 44k. No
wonder it has to slow down, it is the RFI that is killing me.
Any suggestions on how to control the RFI??
