    It has been a while since I had seen the data you identified below.  You
sure do nice work (I recommend strongly others looking at that data).

    My questions to both you and Tom (and anyone else):  I would guess that
the various grades of charcoal depend on time as well as temperature - and
believe that Tom's work with SeaSweep requires control of both.  I have read
a doctoral thesis with several thermocouples inside the pellet as it is
pyrolyzing - and know the inside of the pellet is of course always lagging
behind the outside (which you are measuring).   So the questions are:
Shouldn't we also be worrying about time - and is the peak outside
temperature the right one?

    I also hope we can find a low-cost (or free) means of chemical analysis.
Any volunteers?
