A stoves "quotable quote"

Stovers,

Fresh from my pen today, in reference to much cooking in the Third World.

"If men had to collect the cooking fuel, they would quickly change their 
stoves."

Yes, it is just a generalization that is not to set off a debate.  Of 
course in some places men probably do collect the fuel, and not all of the 
Third World has poor stoves.  But when you think of where the women carry 
heavy loads of wood on their heads or on their backs or in wheelbarrows, 
the social issues concerning transition to better stoves might be easier if 
men at least experienced a few days of fuel collection.

And to minimize any concern about the "gender stereotyping" that is evident 
in this statement, please note that the statement is from a 
well-intentioned male who seeks better stoves and whose wife does not carry 
wood but does do the household's cooking.
