Possible prize for the roughest and toughest stove maker

Dear Friends

I heard about a great prize for people winning the roughtest and toughest
stove builder category. There is a product of the liquid refreshment type
made next door in South Africa called "Doorndraad Witblitz". This roughly
interprets to "Thorn-Barbed Wire White Lightning".

It comes in a glass bottle wrapped with barbed wire. The idea is that you
(as winner) demonstrate your ultimate toughness by knocking back a swig of
this stuff and then you bite off an inch of barbed wire and chew it up.

The runner up could perform the same feat except using a stick of hickory
instead of the barbed wire.

Witblitz, by the way, makes a pretty good stove fuel, if a little dangerous
to handle without gloves. There is a high potency version (!) of witblitz
called 'Mampoer' which is sold in small ceramic containers. It probably
can't be viewed as a 'prize' in the regular sense though it would be useful
in that university staff Bar-B-Q lighting competition.

Regards
Crispin
