~Dear Crispin and calculating stovers,
1BTU = 1.055056 Kj = 0.2519958 Kcal.
And 1kg = 2.20462 lb or 1 lb=0.4535924 kg.
So I think you got a wrong conversionfactor for Joules to Kcal used;
or better : you got the right factor but forgot to multiply by 2326, on
your last line.
So it should read :
2326J x 0.0002388459kcal/J = 0.5555556 Kcal
...Yea all that oldfashioned nonmetric stuff is a pain in the..., ;-)
I use for that purpose a handsome piece of freeware called : "convert.exe";
it is, installed, about 500KB. So it even fits (and works from) on a floppy,
you can find it at:
http://www.joshmadison.com/software/convert/download.asp
( no my name isn't Madison.) :-)
Happy calculating & keep on stoving!
