While it is hard to see it from here, I think you would benefit in system
efficiency from a reduction in the fuel burn rate, so my calculator says.
If you can get the amount of wood burned per minute cut in half I think the
efficiency will rise.

It depends a bit on the pot.  Is it shrouded and how big is it?

Shrouded, you might see a reduction in fuel used to boil 6 litres on the
order of 30% which is a lot.
