RE: Finishing Concrete Slabs

Concrete slabs can be embossed to look like tiles or stones with
press-on forms. There are also colored admixtures available for tinting
the concrete. (Soleri has done this alot at Arcosanti)

I have some manufacturers literature if you are interested, but your
concrete supplier should have info as well.

The last home in the 2nd Strawbale Video used this technique.

It's also possible to add polyethylene fibers to the concrete in lieu of
wire mesh. This helps keep the slab from cracking and thus more
attractive if it is going to be exposed.

I'm also hoping to find anyone who has used the fiber admixture in
stucco in lieu of chicken wire. Anyone.

(Jorg, do you have any info on toxin levels for polyethylene fiber
admixture?)

Tom

Anyone have any experience finishing gray cement slab floors

it yourself project that would look old and funky so we can dance on it?
Thanks
