concrete stain

Forgive me if this has made the rounds already - I didn't fond anything
on it in the archives.

I am cutting down on finish materials for my house and am thinking to do
a nice skim coat of concrete on the floors and skip the tiles or
whatever else could be added. I remember the posts about getting the
concrete to look physically like tiles by impressing them with forms,
but what about the colours?

I found three websites for companies that manufacture or "install"
colours to concrete floors rendering them the look of tile, but
so far none of them have answered my queries. Their products all
appear to be liquids that penetrate and stain the concrete with a
nice mottled finish and are available in the US in a variety of
colours. Here in Israel I have heard of powdered pigments that
are used in tile manufacturing for creating patterned tiles, but
I haven't been able to run down a source and so far no one has heard of
the liquid stains.

Does anyone out there have recomendations as to what can be used for
pigments? How to apply them?

TIA,
Sarah
