Re: Plaster in Winter

Claire

We had our house stuccoed this past fall by a contractor. Days were cool,
nights well below freezing (upper teens F). I was concerned about freezing
but the contractor assured me that the cement would put out enough heat as a
result of chemical reaction to prevent freezing. He told us after 6 hours,
the stucco would be safe from freeze damage.

When our minimum thermometer read 18 F the morning after the brown coat
application I had a sever anxiety attack. Three months have passed, still no
sign of any problems.
