Um, Ellen, I don't know if it's just me, or the whole straw-pickin'
bunch, but I don't see where an apology is needed here!  After all, you
built a SB house, had a problem, shared it, and then offered what you
and a very co-operative structural engineer came up with for a
solution.  
Now, from where I sit that deserves a "Thanks, Ellen!" and hopes and
good wishes that the solution takes care of the problem.  I figger that
sharing good stuff and not so good stuff is what keeps this group
viable.....that a good dose of humor!  Jest my 2 cents worth!
