Kokopelli Spirit

In reply to the following message:

"We are looking for a magazine that covers desert / southwestern /
Santa Fe / Mission, etc. style of architecture, gardening, life stle,
and so forth. "

Kokopelli Spirit is a new online magazine that is sort of a cross
between Sunset and National Geographic. We focus on ecotravel,
indigenous culture, alternative health and nutrition, and sustainable
development.

Published by the Turtle Island Institute , we promote straw bale and
other alternative construction technology. Two
of our advisory board members are James T. Hubbell, the well known
artist and Drew Hubbell, an architect who built the first permitted straw
bale house in San Diego County who collaborate to take art and
architecture into as yet unexplored realms.

If the magazine becomes popular, it can help to keep the straw bale
and alternative technology movement alive - I say this with regard to
the question that someone asked about the future of straw bale
construction. It has to become mainstream and we feel that we can
help take alternative technology mainstream through the magazine.

But we need you assistance also - as a new online publication we have
limited dissemination - so, if you like what we're doing after viewing it,
please forward the URL to as many people as you know. Also help
us with articles, photos and other creative ideas to keep the magazine
interesting. The next issue will focus on oceans, dolphins, whales, sea
turtles and other endangered species. The following issue will focus
on indigenous culture - we will try to show how valuable the rich heritage
our native ancestors bequeathed us really is and how we can apply it
in our world of today.

Since most people take vacations, we've focused on Ecotravel as a
fun means of bringing education in sustainable development to the
ecotravel and the indigenous community at the same time.

Thanks for listening (reading) -
The EcoPilgrim
