hmmm - I found it neither involved nor to exclude passive solar as I think 
the interplay is wonderful ----  had a slight glitch in my pump when first 
installed so they did some adjustment last week, then yesterday I noticed the 
unit was not "firing off" (pardon the non-technical term" and water temp was 
down to 80, then I checked the temp inside, and the passive solar gain onto 
the concrete floor had raised indoor temp to 70 from the thermostat temp set 
at 60, so did not call for heat until well into the evening ---- sounds 
pretty good to me   Linda Lloyd
