Re: radiant floors



Thanks for all the input about radiant floors.  It was particularly
helpful to hear the testimonials from people about the lack of need
for auxiliary heat on the second story.  I also appreciated the
thought of putting in the tubing downstairs but delaying hooking up
the heating system until it's clear it's needed -- *not* having to do
something is always appealing.

I'm still intrigued by the newspaper printing plate idea, and if 
tubing upstairs were necessary I think I'd experiment with that.  The
other idea I've heard is to use flashing, which is supposed to be less
expensive than those very expensive heat transfer plates.  But again,
*not* having to figure it out at all is even better, by far!
