You are waaaaay beyond my level of expertise here, so I am forwarding
your question to the international straw bale list serve. We have had
quite a thread here recently about using wool batts for insulation and
many other products have been discussed as well. 
There are a lot of very informed folks on the list and you should get
some interesting answers.

subject lines. When you get a notice that you have been added to the
list, you will also get instructions on how to use the archives. Then you
can research the subject there as well.
