Career advice?

Hi Everyone, I have been a happy lurker on this amazing list. I truly
appreciate all the vast experience that so many of you are willing to share.
I have been seriously considering a career change and architecture is the
current forerunner, with a focus on straw bale of course. Do any of you
architect types have any thoughts, or might you be willing to answer a few
questions? Are there some other routes to design/build that I should
consider? I won't clutter up the list with details about my situation, but
if any of you have a few minutes to spare I would appreciate it. Thanks so
