RE:Solar Ideas - long but hopefully informative

Home Power Magazine issue number 80 [Dec/Jan] P42-46
has an article "PV Payback" that has considerable detail
on manufacturing energy costs etc.

This can be seen ONLY for the next few days [they post current
copy of magazine on their website - issue 81 just came out]
at http://www.homepower.com or later on CD ROM and hard
copy of the magazine...

less is more! premena

Subject: Solar Ideas - long but hopefully informative

I've been considering buying a PV (photovoltaic) solar panel system but I
was pretty shocked at how significant the initial cost would be...
I thought, oh well, once you buy it should pretty much pay for itself in
a
few years assuming it's virtually
maintenance free.

snipity snip....

all sorts of acids (HCl , H2SO4, HNO3, etc. etc.)). Therefore, the
enviromental cost in producing these products is definitely not
zero and needs to be considered in the whole equation.

Any Si wafer gurus out there?
