SB: RE: Looking for SB architect and builder in s.e. AZ; Rastra?

Nada,

Here are a few resources in Tucson, you can tell them that I highly
recommended them to you.

I know an architect here in Tucson that really "thinks" sustainably (uses
Pattern Language). He works with desert designs, particularly straw. Also,
he is a real good person which I think is very important when working
closely with someone that is designing a building that you are going to LIVE
in.

He just wrote an article entitled "18 Design Principles To Make Square Feet
Work Harder" that was published in The Last Straw (www.strawhomes.com Issue
#30 summer 2000, pp.10-12), the leading journal on straw bale and natural
building.

His contact info in:
Robert Gay, Architect
Radius Associates
8220 North Rancho Catalina Ave
Tucson, AZ 85704
Phone (520) 575-8329
email: valleymind@earthlink.net

If you are considering building a "higher-end" type of straw bale house I
also know of a builder who has done absolutely beautiful work here in
Tucson.

His contact info is:
John Woodin
327-3282

Best of luck,
Jeffrey LaNuez
Tucson, AZ

Can anyone recommend an architect for a straw bale house that I'd like
to build in s.e. Arizona (Sierra Vista area)? What about a builder?

I've talked to a couple of builders in the SV area who have experience
with Rastra but not with SB. Does anyone have experience, directly or
indirectly, in living with Rastra? If so, is it worth considering?

PS: I am really learning a lot from this list; thank you!
