Securely attaching stucco netting (chicken wire type) to straw bales can be a
problem.  We found an excellent product for this purpose.  It is a 6 inch pin
with a large round cap.  The pin is slightly barbed (not dangerous to your
hands, though).  The company is Prime Source Building Products.  Call (800)
745-3341 and ask for your local supplier.  The product is known as Grip-Rite
Fastener, part number 6" EGA/T Round Cap.  A 30 LB box of several hundred
pins cost about $35.  These pins attach so well, in some instances you may
need a claw hammer to remove them from the straw.
