Mobile Home Retro-fit

I would like to run my beginning plans by you good people for some feed-back.

I have two mobile homes and wish to build a room joining them together.  As part of my remodeling plans, I want to surround the mobile homes with strawbales, using rammed earth tires as a foundation for these non-load bearing walls.
I live in New Mexico, and in accordance with my understanding of the building code, will use pier and beam to support the roof of the new room and use rammed earth tires and strawbales for the walls.

Foundation:  My mobile homes have sat for over a decade sitting on cinder blocks.  We live on a limestone hill.  I can't foresee any problems using rammed earth tires to hold the bales above ground.  Can you?

Roof: The whole complex will get a new roof, built, of course, before we put up the walls. I really thought the idea of having the roof extend two feet over the walls was a great idea and is the type of stuff I am looking for here.

I just want to have some input before I take the whole shee-bang to an engineer.

    Thanks, ML Jones
