The best way I have heard of one used as a segue into SB was the woman
who built the pole barn roof over and twice as wide as the mobile. Then
stacked the strawbale around all but the tongue end of the mobile,
pulling it out and finishing the short open wall. This is in one of the
strawbale books, don't remember which at this point in time.

She was able to use the water and sewer lines left from the mobile, but
did not have to live for the rest of her life with the substandard
wiring, plumbing, etc.

Yes, the standards have improved, but no they are still not built to the
same code as on site buildings.

I sure would look at tents, yurts, whatever as a better short term
solution than an old mobile-- but that's just my opinion!
