SB: anyone want to teach natural building?

Hi y'all,
Some folks in the San Francisco Bay Area are putting on a Skillshare in
late April. (See paste-in below for details.) I'd originally said I'd do a
workshop on natural building techniques, particularly for things like
building interior sound partitions in warehouses where punk bands practice,
refurbishing trashed interior walls in squatted buildings, making simple
compost toilets that the landlord, neighbors and health department will
never see, and so on. The emphasis is on DIY, cheap/free and hands-on.

I've decided to go to Quebec City for the big protests against the Free
Trade Area of the Americas (where I'll be working as a Street Medic), which
is the same weekend, so would like to find someone else to teach the above
or similar workshops. Anyone interested? Best thing is to contact
Skillshare people directly at the number below. (P.s., could someone on the
green builder and cob lists please forward this to those lists as well?
Thanks.)

Below is a snippet from a personal correspondence with a Skillshare organizer:

>...we have the perfect
>site, too- a strawbale wall in a warehouse that needs finishing
(plaster-wise
>only, the structure is done I think). We've been talking a little
>about having some projects that extend a few days past Skillshare
>to the next week that are longer term, infrastructure building
workparties...
>it'd be a good project for that...

Anyone interested?

Dear workshop facilitator,
This questionnaire is your chance to tell us what you need
from
us
to help make your workshop happen, and it is our chance to get an
official
description from you so we can include it in any registration or
other
mailings we will send out. We are also trying to figure out scheduling
of all the workshops, and your responses, especially your answers
about
how much time you need, will aid us in this... If you taught a workshop
last year, attended other people’s workshops, and have any comments
or
suggested changes that can make Skillshare more effective, please
feel
free to include them.
Your workshop description will help people figure out what

they
want to attend. Here are some general guidelines:
*Workshops should be in the spirit of self-sufficiency or community
building.
*Let us know if yours is a women-only or otherwise restricted workshop.
*Facilitators are strongly encouraged to bring literature to disseminate
to their workshop attendees. We encourage you to write up resource
lists,
'recommended reading' lists, and other printed info that will help
your
students pursue the subject after the conference. We are also trying
to put together an 'after' zine and encourage you to write a topic
sheet
or a handout or an article that could be included in the zine.
This
of course could be the same as the info you hand out during your
workshop.
*Unfortunately we can't provide photocopying.
*We're trying to fit in 50 workshops in 4 days so please keep time
limitations
in mind when planning your workshop. Time slots available will
be
2
hours long, with the option of a workshop taking more than one timeslot
if necessary, or taking up only one hour if appropriate.
*there will be limited housing available so let us know if you think
you'll need a housing hookup. Also, let us know if you need childcare.
*We might need to reach you to reconfirm your workshop or inform
you
of changes. Please give us a way to reach you by phone if possible.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Contact information:
1> Name, address, phone number, e-mail address, name as you want
it

if applicable:
7>Any dates that this workshop can't take place (Thursday 4/19,
Friday

8>Any times that your workshop can't be scheduled?
9>Any special requirements or special arrangements? Specialized
equipment,
type of space? Are you bringing tools or equipment that could be
loaned
to us to use in another workshop?
10>Do workshop participants need to bring anything special, such
as materials,
shop safe clothing, etc?

11>Do you need housing or childcare?
12>Do you have any interest in assisting with any of the other workshops/
do you want to be put in touch with any of the other participants,
