Can you just stack some bales around the shed? Go ahead and set up your battery
bank and inverter. That way you can charge with the genny then run quietly for a
few days until you need to charge again. Add your PV's later. Of course be
conservative about your loads, like avoid running arrays of halogen lights. <g> 
And those extension cords with the little built in pilot light are constantly
sipping at the batteries.
