SB: lateral bracing

Hi again, I thought it might help if I let you know what the specific
concerns are. Here they are:

 >He is concerned (as am I ) that you do not intend to
 >use wire mesh attached to the beam and floor nor do the
 >sewing before plastering. The main reason for the concern
 >is, as in any post and beam structure, there needs to be
 >some lateral bracing. Since you have no interior walls in
 >the living room section, there needs to be some other form
 >of lateral bracing. The diagonal strapping is part of that
 >bracing system, and the wiring, sewing , and plastering is
 >the other part. It is like the sheathing on any other
 >building. It holds the whole system together, regardless of
 >what the insulating material is. The wire mesh and sewing
 >have the added advantage of supplying some shear strength
 >for earthquake loads.

thanks everyone,
