What about just using a simple solar box cooker? B Kerr the solar expert
advises just putting water into a black pot, lid on,  place in box cooker (
a simple cardboard box will do, with glazed top, as the solar cooke) then
let sit  facing south. The daily sunlight would heat the water and let
clothes  clean by simple immersion.

A little agitation and a cold water rinse could work to finish the cycle.

She teaches people how to sanitize rags, diapers, etc by using the sun's
energy in a very easy way.

I've put just a black pot in the window on a sunny day and gotten 110 deg.
+ water in short order. hot enough for dishwashing and more.

 just think..."undie cookers"...if it works for diapers it can work for
clothes.
