SB: RE: Lime Plaster Tint Suggestions?

Hi Sarah,

I have used Davis Colors pigments integral in lime plaster with success.
These are earth-tone pigments derived from iron oxides (rusted iron) and are
made for concrete, so can handle the alkalinity of lime.

contact:
Davis Colors
http://www.daviscolors.com/

I have also used Natural Choice pigments in limewash, but be careful to use
ones that can handle the lime. I suggest a test batch. (They also have
great customer service and should be able to help you select pigments that
are ok to use with lime.)

contact:
Natural Choice Catalog/BioShield Paints
http://www.bioshieldpaint.com/
(go to the bottom and click on "color pigments")

Good luck and hope this helps.

Subject: SB: Lime Plaster Tint Suggestions?

We are at the stage of lime plastering the walls of our strawbale community
structure in Granville Ohio. We would like to add tint to the plaster to
avoid
the cement like coloring of the lime. Any suggestions for specific tints or
sources would be greatly appreciated.
I think we would like a darker brown for the exterior, much like the
coloring of the walls when wet cob has just been applied, and something a
bit
lighter, but similarily natural, for the interior.
   Thanks heaps! ~Sarah
