SB: Re: undie cookers and Chinese hot water



Having lived in several places where hot water was a rare thing, I 
assert that the difference between even luke warm water and cold 
water is dramatic, when you are splashing the water on intimate parts 
of your body (such as your skin).  Therefore, a so-so solar 
pre-heater would have substantial value.  A solar water heater could 
generate 40 degrees C (~104 F) would be a major boost to hygiene and 
comfort.

I am sure that there is tremendous variation in the water systems in 
China.  We might want to target one that is common to the area where 
Yak Woman is working.  Something as simple as snaking tubing for the 
hot water supply under the tile roof might do wonders.  But freezing 
could be a problem.  So we need to know more about the houses, 
climate and water delivery systems that we are designing for.
